SUPRISE! Instant large family

Janelle's interview

1. Was it a shock to find out you were having triplets?

Yes! It was a complete shock! My husband and I knew that there was a possibility of twins since my initial Hcg came back high but we never expected Triplets! At our ultrasound at 6.5 wks, we were happy to see 2 sacs. However, after some more looking, the ultrasound tech found another baby hiding & sharing a sac with it's sibling. Although it was a shock to me, my husband just about passed out when he first heard & saw the ultrasound.

2. What do you think will be the hardest thing going from

small to large family all at once?

The hardest thing from going to small 3 person family to a 6 person family is budget
space issues and most importantly providing enough attention to all the kids. I'm worried about our 23 month old son and how he will react when he doesn't get all of Mommy & Daddy's attention anymore. He has been my world!

3. Are you going to have help for all the kids?

No Help. Unfortunately, my family all live 2000+ miles away from me so I might get a visit from my parents but it will only be for a couple weeks at the longest. My In-Laws live a mile away, but they aren't comfortable with babies plus there is a language barrier which makes it difficult for communicating instructions. I have received one offer from a wonderful lady who offered 4 hrs of her time a week. I know it will be difficult but I'm hoping to find my groove and get into a schedule as soon as I can.

4. Do you think you'll get the comments other large families

do?

Yes. I'm a member of a Triplet Message Board and some of the ladies hae the most terrifiying stories of how strangers feel it's ok to touch your babies and make comments. One mom actually posted a video of her at the zoo with her kids and it worries me about what I might here when I go out in public.

I'm very happy to be a part of a big family. I always wanted a big family of my own. Struggling with infertility I thought I may never have kids and definitely not a big familiy like I always dreamed of but I am grateful for the blessings I've been given.

5. How many times have you been asked already if you're

done now?

Acutally, I haven't been asked this yet. I'm sure once people actually see how many babies we're having, then I'll get the question. I already have my response for when someone does ask me .... I hope not!

6. Are you scared?

I wouldn't say that I'm scared. I'm so excited. I'm expecting these girls to arrive any day now and I think that the adrenaline is stronger than any fears I have. The only thing I'm scared about is the babies health! Once the adrenaline wears off, fear might set in but I know God doesn't give you more than you can handle. So I must believe this statement and love all my kids with all of my heart!

7. What's the best thing about knowing you are about to

have triplets and your family?

Best thing is knowing that in just a couple days or weeks, we're adding three little blessings to our home. Three little blessing that will fill our home with smiles, giggles, snuggles and love. Our son is so excited about the arrival of the babies and my husband and I couldn't be happier with all the joy and blessings we've been given. We are truly grateful!
